Joe Broad, founder of Novocaddy, is a Type 1 diabetic. He found out the hard way that heat-damaged insulin doesn’t announce itself, until it’s too late. A hot car, a gym bag, a summer commute - any one of them can quietly ruin a dose, with no way to tell just by looking. Forgotten doses were the other half of it, with nothing to catch a missed one until it had already happened.

That experience is where Novocaddy started. Joe founded the company in 2024, built directly from what he went through himself. Since then Novocaddy has been through numerous accelerator programmes, secured grant funding, and worked alongside the universities of Warwick, Birmingham and Oxford to get the science and the engineering right.

Novocaddy started with insulin because it’s the medication the business understands best. Novocaddy tracks your doses, knows where your case has been and lets you ask its built-in AI about your own data, alongside keeping your insulin at a safe temperature. The company is now building that same platform to support multiple conditions - giving anyone carrying temperature-sensitive medication real confidence, not guesswork.
